At Kayla Care, our strength lies in our dedicated team of support workers who are passionate about providing tailored care services. Together, we strive to ensure that every client receives the personalised support they deserve.

James: Founder and Director.

James, the founder of Kayla Care, embodies our mission of providing tailored support for clients on the NDIS. With years of experience in the support work sector, he has a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by our clients and their caregivers.

James started his career as a carpenter & joiner, and once he obtained his builder's license, he worked to follow his passion for support in mental health. Once he completed his studies, James started working as a support worker. His background in carpentry increases his practical and creative support for clients, as well as being able to find common ground.

Another creative outlet for James is performing magic. He has performed for a number of events, including birthdays, weddings, and performing magic at schools, using this as a tool while discussing mental health awareness with students.

As a mentor, he leads by example, instilling the values of empathy, respect, and professionalism in our team. His vision for Kayla Care is to create a community where individuals can thrive with dignity and independence.

James regularly engages with clients, caregivers and staff, ensuring that everyone feels heard and valued. His dedication to continuous improvement drives our team to stay updated with the best practices in care, fostering an environment of growth and excellence.

Gurnoor (Noor): Support Worker.

Noor is a dedicated Support Worker, passionate about helping others and committed to continuous learning. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Biology and a Certificate III in Individual Support, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in people's lives. Known for her open mindedness and eagerness to grow, Noor thrives on both personal and professional development.

Outside of work, Noor is a proud pet parent to two large dogs and enjoys spending time with her energetic nephews. She loves building connections and forming meaningful relationships, which reflects her bubbly personality. Noor’s passion for learning extends into her personal life, where she actively explores new hobbies, including painting, sketching, DIY projects, and baking. Noor also enjoys fitness, outdoor activities, woodworking, and gardening.

Music is another key part of Noor’s life, she loves singing, playing a bit of guitar, and discovering new tunes. Photography, whether with a camera or phone, allows her to capture the beauty around her. In her downtime, Noor enjoys video games and movies to relax.

Noor is also an avid traveller, passionate about discovering new places and cultures. She speaks Punjabi fluently and has also learned some Korean, finding inspiration in learning new languages and understanding diverse cultures. Whether in personal pursuits or supporting others, Noor embraces new experiences and enjoys growing together with others.

Alana (Lana): Support Worker and Mentor.

Lana is a Support Worker and Mentor with over five years of experience in the Aged Care sector, specialising in Dementia Care. Lana holds a Certificate III in Individual Support and is trained in Manual Handling, she has developed a strong skill set in Disability Support, working with both providers and independently. Lana is passionate about helping participants achieve their goals, offering support across Personal Care, Community Access, and more.

With extensive experience in complex care, Lana has worked with individuals living with a range of conditions including ADHD, ASD, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, BPD/Bipolar, Dementia, MS, Parkinson’s, COPD, FND, Stroke, and Brain Injury. She approaches each participant’s care with a person centred, compassionate, and thorough mindset, always ensuring their unique needs are met with understanding and attention to detail.

Outside of work, Lana has a deep passion for wildlife, particularly birds, and enjoys swimming, going to the beach, arts and crafts, physical activity, and going to the gym. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and watching animal documentaries.

Amelia: Support Worker.

Amelia is a Support Worker with a strong passion for helping others. Living in a rural area, she has a deep appreciation for community connections and understands the importance of reliable, compassionate support. With excellent organisational and time management skills, Amelia is respectful, friendly, and dedicated to creating a positive and supportive environment for those she assists.

Amelia offers a range of support services, including shopping, meal preparation, attending appointments, outings and activities, companionship, general care, fitness and exercise support, and community engagement. She is committed to helping participants maintain independence while ensuring they feel valued and supported in their daily lives.

She holds several relevant qualifications, including First Aid & CPR, NDIS Supporting Effective Communication, NDIS Supporting Safe & Enjoyable Meals, I’m Alert Food Safety Training, and the NDIS Worker Orientation Module. Amelia is also studying a Certificate III in Disability at TAFE, further expanding her knowledge and skills in the field.

Outside of work, Amelia enjoys reading, listening to music, watching movies and shows, cooking and baking, and going on outings. She also has a strong love for animals and enjoys spending time with them whenever possible.

Leilani: Support Worker.

Leilani is a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker with a strong passion for helping others thrive. She has completed Year 12 at Urrbrae High School and holds a range of qualifications, including a Certificate III in Business, Certificate III in Fitness, and Certificate II in Food Processing. With experience in holistic care and community support, Leilani takes a person centred approach, ensuring those she works with feel empowered, heard, and supported in achieving their goals.

Leilani has experience assisting individuals with daily living, personal development, and community access, always providing support with warmth and understanding. Her background in wellness and facilitation allows her to bring a unique perspective to support work, incorporating mindfulness, movement, and connection into her approach. She is particularly passionate about creating safe spaces for growth and healing, drawing from her experience as a Women's Circle Facilitator and Massage Therapist.

Beyond her work, Leilani enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time in nature. She values community gatherings, wellness practices, and continuous learning, always seeking ways to expand her knowledge and enhance the lives of those she supports.

David: Support Worker.

David is a dedicated Support Worker with a strong passion for promoting physical, mental, and emotional well being. With 18 years of experience as a Remedial Therapist, he brings a deep understanding of holistic health to his role. His background also includes 17 years as a Chef, where he developed patience, creativity, and strong problem solving skills, which are qualities that now enhance his approach to support work.

David is committed to helping individuals achieve their goals, whether through personal care, community access, skill development, or emotional support. He takes a person-centred approach, ensuring that each individual receives compassionate, tailored care that respects their unique needs and aspirations.

Outside of work, David enjoys exploring nature, walking, and fishing. He has been with his wife for 22 years, and they have two children, aged 13 and 19. He also has a love for cooking, singing, and playing the guitar. A devoted animal lover, he spends time caring for his family’s pets, including two cats, a dog, and three chickens. Additionally, he enjoys bible study and deepening his faith.

Patrick: Support Worker.

Patrick is a Youth and Disability Support Worker with two years’ experience supporting individuals across Adelaide. He began his journey working one on one with students as an SSO while studying a Bachelor of Education. Now completing a Bachelor of Psychology, Patrick brings a strong understanding of mental health alongside his hands-on experience.

He is passionate about helping young people and adults with daily living, social engagement, schoolwork, and emotional wellbeing. Patrick approaches every day with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, making sure support is tailored to each person’s goals and needs. Known for being friendly, reliable, and easy to talk to, he works hard to make life a little easier and more enjoyable for those he supports.

Patrick’s experience includes assisting with group social outings, providing one on one daily support, and helping students manage learning difficulties. He values building trust and promoting independence, always aiming for a person centred approach that respects individual choices.

Outside of work, Patrick is a proud Adelaide Crows supporter who loves Aussie Rules football, gym, video games, reading, soccer, basketball, movies, trying new restaurants, drawing, and going on long drives. He lives with his dog and two cats and enjoys staying active and connected to his passions.

Kaitlyn: Support Worker.

Kaitlyn is a Support Worker with three years of experience in both Disability and Aged Care. She has developed strong skills in person centred support, working closely with NDIS participants to help them achieve their personal goals. Kaitlyn holds certifications in First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling, and the NDIS Worker Screening Check, and has also studied Health Service Assistance.

With practical experience across personal care, community access, behaviour support, and meal preparation, Kaitlyn is confident in supporting individuals with both physical and intellectual disabilities. She is compassionate, dependable, and committed to empowering participants to live independently and with dignity.

Kaitlyn is passionate about helping others and is planning to further her studies in Paramedicine, building on her knowledge and experience in health and support services. She approaches her work with empathy, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility, ensuring each participant feels respected and included.

Outside of work, Kaitlyn enjoys movies, music, shopping, sports, and creative activities. She values relaxation and entertainment as ways to recharge, and she brings her positive, down to earth personality into everything she does.

Alicia: Support Worker.

Alicia is a compassionate and motivated Support Worker with six months of experience in the support work sector. She holds a Statement of Attainment in Criminal Psychology and Forensics and is currently completing her Undergraduate Certificate in Psychology, further building on her knowledge and skills to support participants in meaningful and informed ways.

With a natural ability to connect with people, Alicia thrives on creating supportive and understanding relationships. She values empathy and respect, ensuring that every participant feels seen, heard, and encouraged in working towards their personal goals. Her person centred approach is driven by her genuine care for others and her belief in the importance of offering consistent, meaningful support.

Outside of work, Alicia enjoys writing novels, painting, and expressing her creativity through art. She is also passionate about movies and music, and enjoys keeping active through Pilates. These hobbies reflect her balanced approach to life, combining creativity, relaxation, and wellbeing.

She is committed to providing person centred care that meets each participant’s unique needs while encouraging their confidence and independence.

Outside of her role, Rangika enjoys socialising, listening to music, exploring mindfulness practices, and tuning into podcasts. She has a love for cooking simple, healthy meals and finds joy in caring for animals, especially dogs. Her strong sense of compassion extends into all aspects of her life, making her a warm and reliable support for participants and their families.

His warm and approachable nature helps participants feel comfortable while working towards both short term and long term goals.

Outside of work, Brodie is an active and social person who enjoys sport, particularly football, soccer, and basketball. He also has a passion for gaming, camping, and spending time with friends. These interests allow him to bring energy, creativity, and a sense of fun to his work, often helping him to connect with participants through shared hobbies and activities.

He holds a Certificate III in Individual Support and a Certificate III in Fitness, along with First Aid and CPR training. These qualifications, combined with his hands on experience, have given Nicholas a strong foundation for providing high quality care across personal support, community access, health and wellbeing. He values building genuine connections, supporting participants’ independence, and making each day both positive and enjoyable.

Outside of work, Nicholas enjoys playing video games, following and participating in sports, listening to music, shopping, and watching movies. His wide range of interests allows him to easily connect with participants and share enjoyable activities together.

Melissa (Mel): Support Coordinator.

Mel is an experienced Support Coordinator with a strong and diverse background in the Community Services sector, particularly in roles supporting children and young people. She holds a Diploma in Children’s Services and a Certificate III in Education Support, and has worked across school and kindergarten support roles, youth work, administrative positions, event coordination, and running two businesses. Her professional journey has equipped her with excellent organisational skills, a practical understanding of support needs, and a grounded, person centred approach to helping participants navigate the NDIS.

Mel also brings a unique depth of life experience to her role. She spent two years travelling and working on stations, developing a lasting love for the country life and the sense of connection it brings. Her commitment to family is evident in everything she does, and she values the time she spends with her children and grandchildren.

Outside of work, Mel enjoys a mix of creative and hands on interests, such as woodworking and hobby farming. She loves travelling across Australia, discovering new places to explore, and is a self confessed foodie who is always keen to try a new spot to eat. Mel also has a passion for live music, especially Aussie rock.

Trisha (Trish): Support Worker.

Trish is a compassionate and experienced Support Worker with over six years of experience supporting individuals and families in home and community settings. With a diverse background in banking, retail management, animal care, and emergency response with SA Ambulance, she brings adaptability, empathy, and professionalism to every role.

She has supported participants of all ages, from babies to the elderly, including those who are nonverbal, blind, living with brain injuries, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, and mobility challenges. Trish is experienced in respite and emergency accommodation, in home care, day trips, and overnight support (active and passive). She is confident in medication support, oxygen therapy, PEG and tube feeding, and manual handling.

Trish holds a Certificate III in Disability and Aged Care, Certificate II in Animal Studies, and Certificate II in Medical Service First Response. She is trained in CPR, defibrillation, First Aid, Safe Environments, and Manual Handling, and holds a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Check.

Outside of work, Trish enjoys life at home with her husky, Blade, and two cats. She has two adult daughters and one grandson, who she loves to see any chance she gets. Trish enjoys animals, nature, and creating a calm, positive space both at home and in her work.
